"Nearly a month ago I had a 4-day trip to Vilamoura with golf, transfers and hotel booked by two of your ladies in the office... "My initial request for help was handled by Alison Card who was one of only two people that contacted me after I'd filled in online enquiry forms with about 5 different companies. She took care of my booking, was patient when I didn't immediately confirm whether we were going to be a party of 3 or 4 and was flexible enough to have a room for 3 up her sleeve to keep the costs down when it turned out one of our number couldn't make it. "Several days after making the booking I was contacted by her colleague Christine Frac who tipped me off that one of the courses I'd booked ... had just re-opened from maintenance. It seemed she'd received reports it wasn't playing too well, didn't was this to adversely affect my holiday and wanted to give me the choice of two alternative courses ... came back with the Faldo course including buggies and transfer all at no extra cost to us. I was quite impressed with this and we checked out how much that course normally costs to play, so it's not lost on me what sort of favour she did. "Finally, contact with your local man Arthur Mellor was rapid, his drivers were professional and on neither occasion did we wait around for our journeys to and from Faro airport." "Thanks to you and your team for the excellent support provided to us before and during our annual MD conference last week. Towergate were very happy with the venue and the service provided by Vilamoura Ltd. "Of special note are Alison Card and Alison Lauder. Both were exceptional on site and without them we would not have been able to pull this one off to the same high standard. Delegates responded well to them and they deflected a tremendous amount of ad hoc requests that would otherwise have landed on our shoulders. It was also useful to have a native language speaker on site. Arthur was also an excellent choice for our group. From the outside looking in, his flexibility was appreciated. "The Lake Resort was an excellent choice for our MD conference in terms of standard of environment, service levels, catering, variety of available activity, proximity to the harbour and conference facilities... Feedback was that the rooms were of a high standard and very comfortable... All delegate feedback on the activity schedule and organisation was positive. A good time was had by all and the transportation/pre-activity comms was well received. As Cascatas Golf Resort. ... the resort was excellent, the rooms were wonderful and had everything we needed, down to Fairy Liquid and dishwasher tablets. Clean bedding and towels everyday, pure luxury. The hotel transfer bus was great to both the private part of the beach and the marina at night time. So great in fact that we would like to do it all again next year." John Thomson "The Hadden Hill men’s section annual outing to Vilamoura, Portugal took place at the end of September. The travel company we use (Vilamoura Ltd) make life very simple; they collect us from the airport and transport us to our comfortable apartment hotel a wedge from the marina, bars and restaurants. Each day buses collect us and take us to one of the six championship courses we play (none of which are more than ten minutes away). One phone call at the end of play and the efficient friendly guys come and pick us up. There is no need to hire a car or worry about who is fit to drive! Vilamoura has about every facility you would wish to find right there on your doorstep; from casino, bars, clubs, restaurants, sea, sand and even ancient ruins! For really younger, lively, rowdy bars a cheap taxi ride can be made to Alberfuria just down the road. Hugh Reid |
